The USDA's Non-Discrimination Statement

"The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, political beliefs, reprisal, or because all or a part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program."

Not surprising, missing from the USDA's non-discrimination statement ... vegans and any species other than human. Maybe vegans are not humans in the USDA's disconnected corpse-munching mind. Hmmmm

Does the USDA employ any vegans? Perhaps … if they keep their veganism under-wraps and don't make any waves. I wonder how much chance this vegan has at landing a job at the USDA?

  1. I think "don't ask, don't tell" is a good policy when looking for a job; most people feel threatened when you tell them you're a vegan, don't you notice?
